Beaches

Nerja is one of the most sought after destinations on the Costa del Sol. Its appeal is easy to understand, being one of the few booming holiday resorts that has kept its traditional fishing-village feel.  Nerja has 12 beaches, below we have listed some of our favourites to help you decide where to spend your time in Nerja.

CAlahonda Beach

Playa Calahonda is without a doubt, Nerja’s most iconic beach. It is certainly the most photographed; the beach that seems to grace every Nerja-themed postcard or calendar. The tiny cove-like beach, hemmed by cliffs and rocks, with its picturesque fisherman's hut, sits in an unbeatable location.

salon Beach

Sitting beneath the Balcón de Europa, on the right hand side if facing the sea, is the picturesque El Salon Beach. The sandy beach is about 200 metres in length by 20 metres of coarse, dark sand.

The only way to access the beach is by foot. The nearest parking, is the underground paid parking near the town hall. The access down to the beach itself is fairly easy to miss and is via a small street (Calle Salón) that runs parallel to the Toboso building.
